Cake in pink

Today I'll show you the cake that I made for the 5th birthday of a cute girl called Isabelle. As her mother told me her daughter likes very much pink color. That immediately solve the problem what color will be the cake:)
I decorated the cake with a lot of flowers and birds because Isabelle likes them and because the spring came just 2 days ago and  with it my spring mood was evoked.
Happy birthday, dear Isabelle! Be healthy and happy child!

Spring cupcakes

Spring came everywhere 2 days ago. Only here, in Montreal (and not only in the city), we had another winter storm. What a beginning for the spring this year!!! We were again covered with another 30-40 cm of snow. In such a day our minds were occupied with the thought how to shovel the snow in front of our entrances or where to park our cars. Nobody had the feeling that the spring is here...We need the sparkle, the sunshine and the birds' songs...and why not some delicious cupcakes with spring motives. That's why I decided and made cupcakes decorated with flowers to evoke our spring mood.

Cake from scratch

Today's cake is my older daughter's idea. Everything started with the shape:) I know that it sounds weird but it's true. Sophia asked me yesterday to make her a cake in the shape of a heart. That was the only one condition.
Now it was my turn to decide what kind of cake to create. I didn't feel like making something too complicated or well decorated. Just a homemade cake, delicious and exceeding my client's expectations:)
Too many cakes are not good for our health and I decided to make a healthy raw cake. It was abundance of dried dates and walnuts, attached by cocoanut oil and water. Look at how simple it is!
At the bottom of the spring form pan I put a  thin waffle layer that I covered with strawberry jam. After that I spread the raw and well blended mixture. I would like to mention that this time I didn't use cookies at all and it worked pretty well too.
Now let's continue with the other layers. I was wondering for a while how to cover the cake and immediately another idea came into my mind. My daughter likes very much vanilla pudding. OK, I made it and I poured it over the raw mixture. Probably you think that this cake is very weird and inappropriate mixture of flavor. I thought the same till the moment I tried it. It's incredibly tasty. The vanilla pudding is exactly on the right place. It makes the cake not so sweet (the sweetness comes from the dried dates ) and gives it the fluffy feeling.
Sophia was very happy when she saw the vanilla pudding on the top and with a smile she told me that she wanted exactly that kind of a cake:)
We decided to spread some ground dark chocolate. This idea was accepted with enthusiasm at the beginning but finally my kids were disappointed with the taste. They, probably like all kids, don't like dark chocolate....We had in the fridge fresh raspberries and they were the final decoration made by Sophia by her own. She picked up the ribbon with the roses. When I wrapped the cake Sophia started jumping and shouting "This is my cake, this is my cake!"
Now it's time to show you the cake:)

As you can see the cake isn't something special but it's special for my family and mainly for my daughter. And to make this cake it won't take you a lot of time. And last but not least, the cake is delicious!

Caillou cake

Caillou is a famous and very loved character by all young kids at the age between 2 and 4 years old. When they see a movie, a book or even just a picture with Caillou their faces are lit up with smiles.
That's why I wasn't surprise when my neighbor ordered for her older son a cake with Caillou. Anafiou will celebrate his 3rd birthday at the daycare and I hope he will be pleasantly surprised with the cake at the end of the day.

Bonne fête, Anafiou! Beaucoup de bonne santé and bonheure!

Andrej's first steps

Today's cake is for the son of one of my close friends. I was flattered when she asked me to make the cake for her son Andrej. A week ago he made his first independent steps and of course, now it's the time to celebrate that important stage of his development. My friend wanted a simple cake and although it's not with a lot of decorations I find it really very cute. I hope you'll gonna like it too. I enjoy making cakes for babies and kids. There is an emotional intensity provoked by the purity and innocence of the kids. You can't imagine how big is my personal satisfaction and professional fulfillment when I see the smiles on their faces and the sparkles in the eyes. The feeling is incredible!

And here is the cake for Andrej...

Merida

The beautiful and courageous girl Merida from the Walt Disney movie "Brave" will appear on our today's cake. Even if you haven't watched the movie and if you don't know the name of the girl I am absolutely sure that you have noticed and remembered this long, wild and curly red hair.
The order came from the mother of another beautiful girl Pressiyana who celebrated her 7th birthday. They picked up the photo and the rest was my idea which is not a lot:). Be honest with you I wasn't familiar with that movie. My girls haven't watched "Brave" till this moment. That's why I collected ideas from the net and the trailer. And look at what I created - a cake with confetti base filled with abundance of rich chocolate  fluffy cream. Everything is covered with more chocolate and fondant.

Happy birthday, Pressiyana!

Lego cakes - II part

Let's continue with the Lego cakes. Yesterday I presented you two cakes on this topic and today I decided to continue. I hope it will be fun for all Lego fans.
This order came from the parents of my son's best friend - Daniel. I think it's not necessary to explain that if the two boys are very close friends they should be interested in the same toys. Of course,we talk about Lego Ninjago:)
The parents asked me for a cake with abundance of chocolate - moist, airy and rich chocolate devil's food cake with creamy chocolate filling. A cake covered with chocolate frosting and decorated with modeling chocolate. Together we decided to add some of the Lego candies and in that way to show Daniel's interests.

Happy birthday, Dani! I am sure you had an amazing party yesterday! I wish you to keep through the whole year this party feeling with all incredible emotions!

Lego cakes

Happy birthday, my dear Nikola! I wish you the whole happiness on the world! Be a good and healthy boy! Enjoy the party that you  have waited for so impatiently!
I have made two cakes for the 8th birthday of my son Nikola. As I told you once my kids (according to me) are very lucky because usually for their birthdays they receive not only one cake but two. They are extremely happy although they appreciate mainly the decorations which disappear immediately from the cake.
My son dreamed  of a Lego cake. He insisted to be on the Ninjago theme. Right now he is interested in these figures a lot. The word "a lot" can't even express the whole thrill around these ninjas. He is talking only about them, he is playing only with them. Even he goes to school just to talk and play with his friends with Ninjago:)
The first cake that I'll present you is the Green Ninja. It's a small, rich chocolate cake with fluffy Nutella cream filling. I think it's no necessary to explain you the whole excitement. When Nikola understood that I'll start his cake he ask me politely to make it without stopping. He was very impatient and thrilled. And here is the Green Ninja...

If you are wondering what is no the top of the head,I'll give you the answer immediately - Green Ninja's weapon. Why is on the head? I have no idea. That was Nikola's desire.

The second cake is with confetti base with delicious milk chocolate cream. This time I decided not to cover the cake with fondant just for a change. My son chose the picture from one of his favorite Ninjago books. The picture is edible as the lego bricks. This time I used Lego candies and in that way I saved  time creating every single lego part out of fondant.

We love you,Nikola! Enjoy your childhood!
