Minnie Mouse cake

This Minnie Mouse cake is for Sophia's second birthday. Unfortunately, I hadn't chance to meet Sophia... The cake was ordered by her mom and her dad came to pick it up :)

Happy birthday, Sophia! I wish you very happy childhood, a lot of friends and beautiful presents at the birthday party!

The idea for the cake came form Sophia's mom who had chosen  a cake photo from the net. Some days before the birthday party the mom asked me to replace the white fondant that was supposed to cover the cake with white frosting. Also she asked me to put some toys on the cake related to the main topic - Minnie Mouse. And that is what I had found - The charming Minnie sitting quietly and thinking about something interesting :)

I know at that age kids are very happy when they get some toys at the end of candle blowing. The cake is for all guests but the toy is only for them. That makes the whole cake more special :) Knowing all that I agreed that it's a very good idea if we put a toy or some toys as cake decorations.

St. Valentine's roses for Mariya

Happy birthday, Mariya!Be very healthy and happy girl!

This heart of roses was for Mariya's birthday. The idea for the cake belongs to the young girl. She and her mom sent me couple of pictures with different ideas and finally we took the decision for a cake like this one. I hope that Mariya liked her sweet surprise.

The cake was made out of pink and blue layers. I made them only with egg whites because in that way the colors are better looking. Unfortunately, the layers were very fragile and it was very difficult to cover the whole cake with butter cream. Even when it stayed three hours with a ring in the fridge, I was scared that the cake would collapse....

That's why I decided to wrap it around with a blue fondant. The roses were made out of fondant too. I used also some lace underneath them.

Shopkins cake

This cake is for my youngest daughter Kalina. Today, on this beautiful day, day full of love, passion, expectations and...chocolate my daughter celebrates her birthday. 

Five years ago I received the most beautiful present in my life - Kalina. I don't know the reason (because she was born on February 14th or it's a strange coincidence) but Kalina is full of love. She spreads love everywhere, she is...unbelievable. It's so touching every time when she mentions without any reason "I Love you!"

This year Kalina asked me for Shopkins cake. I was very busy but how can you  say "I don't have enough time, I'm tired and etc ..." Anyway, that's my daughter...

The first tier is red velvet with filling made out of mascarpone and black cherries. The second tier is vanilla with chocolate cream - something traditional for the kids. The cake is really very small - 8" and 6".

Happy birthday, dear Kalina! We love you!!!!

Chocolate heart cake

This cake is very ordinary without any fancy decorations, without any fondant...Simple but unique in its specific way.

Decadent chocolate layers with very delicious filling with mascarpone, black cherries and agave syrup. At the very beginning I planned to make a naked chocolate cake. But later on I decided to keep it as light and fresh as possible. I didn't want to use any butter cream. At the very last moment I decided to spread some melted chocolate around the cake (to attract my kids). My idea was to keep the cake very simple.

Unfortunately, my pictures were taken at night without any day light. The cake didn't survive till the next day and that's why I can't offer you better photos...:(

The cars cake

The cars cake is for the second time this year. I remember when my son was a little boy  and every time when we were in the toys store he asked me to buy him some of the cars. We collected all the characters. This passion continued almost 2 years. Right now this hobby is in the past but it's so funny to me every time when somebody asked me for a cake based on that theme. The little guys still adore these cute cars, the cute characters.

This cake is for Viki's second birthday. Unfortunately, I hadn't chance to meet Viki but I'm sure is a cute little guy who discovers the world with eyes wide open. Be very happy boy, Viki! Enjoy your birthday party!

The cake is covered with green colored butter cream. That was mom's request. She doesn't like the fondant cakes and that's why I made only some decorations out of this material - road, flowers, rocks, birds, cactus, clouds... The waterfall is made out of blue colored butter cream and the stones are very attractive chocolate candies. The sign is made out of chocolate paste.

The two cars are plastic cake decorations. At that age the kids adore to get some toys from the cake. They like the cake but finally the most important is to have something only for you. I hope Viki will be happy with the cars.

Colorful cake with names

This cake was ordered by a very charming lady who wanted to surprise her colleagues at school with something interesting and different. She gave me the idea of a cake with the names of all students and teachers. Very original idea!!!

At the very beginning the lady asked me just to write the names on a cake but then I decided to put them down on a colorful fondant plates showing how different and colorful we are all. Different characters, different and unique minds, different abilities and desires....

The cake is vanilla with fine ground raw hazelnuts and light vanilla cream. I hope everyone had found his name and they enjoyed the cake :)

Flower cake

As I promised you in my last post I'll share with you the other cake for Stephanie's birthday. This small cake is for her daycare, for her teachers and friends.

The cake is not covered by fondant,just the flower decorations around the cake are made out of this sweet material :). Gentle vanilla layers with fluffy vanilla cream are the best choice for the young kids.
