Light treats

Some days ago when I made my chocolate cake with the two different mousses I spread the rest of the cream in cups. My kids very often like to eat the cream separately form the cake. They find difference in one and the same cream if it is in a cup or in the cake. That's why I made these small desserts especially for them.

They also enjoy very much to eat the sprinkles. Again very often my kids just pick up the sprinkles on the top of the cake and that's it. They are done :) That really makes me nervous because in that way they spoil the whole cake.

These cups are also good idea for the upcoming St. Valentine. They are easy to make, light and attractive. This is just a simple idea. You can decorate your mousse' cups according to your preference and taste. Use your imagination and create something amazing and unique. It will be a nice surprise  for your loved ones.

Cake for me

Most of the people don't know that the 10th of February is St. Valentine's Day according to the orthodox calendar. When I was a little girl I also hadn't have any idea. I found the Day years later even I can't remember how was it happen...
Anyway, yesterday I decided to make a cake especially for me to celebrate my day. And for my family too, of course:)

This time I planned something really very simple. No fondant, no any decorations, something light. The idea for a mousse cake came quickly to my mind.

The base is red velvet. Then I layered strawberry and chocolate mousses. On the top I ground dark chocolate and I made this small heart with sprinkles in that shape. I arranged the chocolate cookies that look like chips around the cake and that's it.

Enjoy it :)

Christmas mousse

It's light and fluffy. It's a nice dessert that makes you not to fill full and fat at the end of the last spoon. I used a small part of it as a filling for my Christmas cake
As I promised you I'll give you the recipe and I hope you will enjoy it.

Mint flavor mousse
2 cups (500ml) sour cream
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp green food color (I used 3 teaspoons but as you can notice I am far away form the green color)
1 cup whipping cream

I added 1 teaspoon of mint flavor. The flavor is your personal choice.
On the top I decorated with pieces of a Holly Leaves transfer sheet and some ground chocolate.
