Cakes for my husband

Yesterday was my husband's birthday....As you can see from the small sign on the top of the cake (for the people who don't understand Bulgarian, it's written "We love you" )we wanted to express sweet and shortly our deep love towards him. He is an amazing father and loving husband.

I decided to surprise my husband with candy box cake in the shape of a heart. The cake is raw. It's made out of finely ground dried fruit (apricots, plums and raisins) and nuts (pecans and hazelnuts). I added coconut flakes, coconut oil and that's it. The mix I put in a heart pan and I left in for a night in the freezer. On the next day I made the decorations of the candy box out of fondant and on the top I spread real chocolate candies that I bought from the store.

You know me - I am taking too many pictures :)

This year I made second cake for y husband too. I wasn't sure that most of our guests will like the specific taste of this cake and I decided to make another one - more traditional - a rustic cake.

Mix of chocolate and red velvet layers. Cream of cream cheese and chocolate frosting, Swiss Mocha light cream and abundance of fruit. This time I used grapes, peaches and blueberries. The decoration is chocolate ganache, finely ground almonds and fresh fruits.

Happy birthday, my love!!!!! We wish you all the best! We love you!

Red velvet cupcakes "Frozen"

Happy birthday, dear Alex!!!! Be happy and healthy child! Enjoy your birthday party!

This year Alex wanted red velvet cupcakes. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard Alex's cake wish. Usually kids at that age like only vanilla or chocolate.

Later on Alex decided that she would like theme cupcake decorations - "Frozen". I found these beautiful cupcake holders and the paper sticks. Last year I made this cake for Alex's birthday based on the same theme :)

Happy birthday,dear Alex!!!!

Sweet surprises

These small vanilla sponge cakes I bought from the supermarket next to us. You can find them easily everywhere. They are more delicious if you soaked them with some syrup depending on your taste. Otherwise they are very dry and definitely are not my taste.

I filled them with homemade chocolate cream. It's better to do this while the cream is still hot. Then I used strawberries and blueberries poured over the cream. I used also some ice cream looking candies and colored in green melted candies. Being honest with you I am not a big fan of Candy Melts - they are too sweet for me. But I used a little bit of the melted mix.

This day I was with 4 kids - 3 are mine and we have a guest - my son's best friend. Four kids - four different tastes and preferences - one picked up the strawberries, the other - only the blueberries, the third - only the chocolate and etc....A little bit for everyone :)

Thomas the train cake

Happy birthday, Dani! Enjoy your 4th birthday party! I'm sure you'll receive the most desired and beautiful gifts.
Be happy!

This year Dani's cake wish is Thomas the train. We decided to put some toys on the top of the cake and to make a nice surprise to Dani. I found these mini trains and immediately an idea came into my mind. The cake was 20 cm diameter and the size of the trains was perfect for that cake.

The cake is for the birthday party at home with the family and the cupcakes are for Dani's daycare.

The cake is made out of vanilla layers with tiny colorful sprinkles inside. The filling is mascarpone with wild berries. The decorations on the cake are made out of fondant except the mini trains.Enjoy it and enjoy the photos :)
