Small gift for a friend

I made this cake extremely quickly. Honestly I am proud with myself. While I was making and decorating the cake I was feeling like I am in a completion. There were some other orders waiting for me and my mind was occupied with different ideas, recipes, flavors...But that's not important right now...
This cake I made for a friend. My way to say "Thank you". This time I won't share with you the reason. I'll just share the cake :) I hope I surprised my friend with the cake which by the way was made of delicious vanilla layers and the middle one I colored with colorful bits.. All of the them were attached with fluffy French vanilla icing.

Thank you one more time!

You still have time ....for Halloween cupcakes

These cupcakes are very easy to make and you don't need a lot of precious time to decorate them. You just have to buy some Halloween candies that you'll use for the decoration. The muffins are vanilla with colorful bits and for the decoration I used purple fondant, icing decorations, some green and vanilla icing, candies (little pumpkins, corn candies, "eyes"), decorative sticks and sprinkles. These cupcakes are present-surprise for Halloween for 20 cute kids at the age of 8 and 9. From one side I want to surprise them and on the other side I'll just show them and give them some ideas how to decorate the mini cupcakes that I baked for them too. And I am sure these kids will be very helpful to their mothers next Halloween :)

More Halloween treats

Today I'll share with you what I made for my kids. They asked me for a chocolate cake with "real" (as my son mentioned it) chocolate filling. They also asked me for some Halloween decorations. While thinking of some Halloween ideas I decided to make simple chocolate brownies with abundance of milk chocolate chunks and all this was covered with chocolate ganache....What do you think? Is the chocolate too much? I spread on the top some purple sprinkles and decorated with Halloween  icing decoration bought from some cake store. It was very easy and quick sweet surprise. The best part was that everybody liked the brownies. My son even mentioned that he  meant exactly this kind of cake. He was very happy and  satisfied and that was enough for me. Besides the brownies I made some purple Halloween candies and unfortunately you can only guess that they were purple. I am not a good photographer as you can see but I hope you have good imagination - the candies were purple :)

The pumpkin is real, decorated by my son.

Before I cut the brownies....

...and after that...

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin bread

It's autumn now. Most of the colorful leaves are on the ground. The view isn't so attractive and picturesque like two weeks ago. The wind starts blowing very unfriendly. But besides the wind the autumn image always brings a picture of beautiful and colorful trees with yellow, orange and red leaves, orange pumpkins spread around in the yard, Halloween decorations hung on the front porch of almost all houses (some of them innocent but most of them stiffen with horror....)
At this time of the year the time spent outside becomes shorter. The days become shorter. Everybody prepares for the winter. Even our bodies are craving for a hot cup of aromatic tea or coffee....A cup of coffee and why not with something sweet and spicy. Exactly at this time of the year all coffee shops start promoting different coffee and tea drinks with cinnamon and spicy flavors. Even the desserts don't step back. Everywhere in the air you can feel the rich fall flavors and aromas.

That`s why today I decided to share with you my tutorial for a pumpkin bread step by step.

1) Bake the pumpkin bread at 375 F. The recipe that I used you can find here. Even if you don`t like it you can always find your recipe for a perfect pumpkin bread. There are  many other different ``versons`` of it. I changed a little bit the recipe - instead of white sugar I used brown one and avocado oil instead of vegetable.

2) Cool 20 min, loosen edges with spatula and remove from the pan. Separate the bread in two halves.

3) Make a ``tunnel`` using a spoon in the middle of the bottom half.

4) Fill the hole with already prepared filling. Some other recipes suggested softened cheese cream but I used ricotta cheese, sour cream and cream cheese + orange color which unfortunately you can't see from my pictures :(

 5. Put the other half of the bread on the top and decorate as you want. I used orange piping gel and corn candies.

Bon Appétit!

Happy birthday,dear Vicky!

These  irresistibly delicious homemade Raffaello candies are for Vicky's 17th birthday. Vicky is the daughter of my friend Ivelina who adores my sweets. At this age you know that kids tries to stop eating  sweet things...I am sure you can guess the reason. And that's why her mother replaces the birthday cake with candies :) One or two Raffaellos are less than a piece of cake :)

Happy birthday, Vicky!!!!Good luck in life!

The Smurfs

Today's cake is one of my favorite....It's one of my favorite because it was made for the 1st birthday of a cute boy Teodor (unfortunately I have seen him only on pictures in facebook). As you know I adore making cakes for babies and children. I admire their innocence and unadulterated reaction. Immediately I can notice if the kids like their cake or they expected something more.
First I star making the Smurfs...When I made the four of them I started wondering how many to create....I stopped for awhile. Then I made the cake and when I continued with the decoration I was happy that I didn't make too many Smurfs. Honestly I hardly found a place for these four :)
The cake is made out of vanilla sponges with colored bits. The filling is fluffy chocolate mouse. All other decorations are made out of fondant. The river is from blue-colored buttercream, stones are tiny chocolates and the table is made out of 2 Oreo cookies stuck together with  buttercream.

Happy birthday, dear Teodor! I hope you had a great party!

Bonne fête grandmère!

My new friend and colleague Flutura ordered this beautiful cake for the birthday of her mother. She asked me for something stylish, with roses and not too many decorations. These were the requirements and everything else was in my hands. The first idea that came in my mind was actually and the last one. I imagined exactly this cake and although I tried to think about something different, this image occupied my mind. That's why I stopped looking for more suggestion and started with the cake. It's a vanilla sponge cake with mascarpone filling and strawberries. The cake is covered with fondant and decorated with all sort of roses :)
Happy birthday!!!!

I am so addicted to this cake that I can't stop posting my photos :) It's time to stop before you'll be bored completely :)
