It's party time!

Today I'll give you some ideas for kids' parties. It's not always necessary to have an enormous, well-decorated cake. Sometimes cute cupcakes with thematic decorations can work better. Be sure to have enough. Kids usually are attracted by the colors, shapes, interesting decorations and thematic characters. That's why it's very common if some of the kids will ask you for an extra one or two cupcakes.
Decorate the room or the salon for the party in the theme that your child is interested in at the moment. There is enormous variety of costumes, posters, table covers, plates, napkins, cups, balloons and all other kind of party supplies that you can easily find in the specialized party shops. The cake or the cupcakes can be the final touch to your event.
You can always add some variety to the main theme. If your theme is a pirate party like my last case that I'll present you today make or order cupcakes decorated with flowers, fairies, butterflies. There will be for sure girls or younger kids that are not interested in pirates at all. And we don't want to disappoint our guests. Add different ingredients, tastes, flavors and fillings. Ask in advance if there is an allergy issue among the kids.
And finally don't forget the parents (if they are invited, of course:) ). My suggestion today is an enormous box of  homemade Raffaello candies! Who can resist to this delicious  treat:)

Enjoy the party!

Happy birthday, dear Kalina!

Finally I found some free time to share with you the cakes that I made for the birthday of my youngest daughter Kalina. Probably you are wondering why "cakes" . Isn't  a single cake enough? It should be but not in our case. Usually my kids take advantage of my hobby and their orders are endless. Probably I am not so good mother and I put some limits - only two:)
My daughter Kalina was born on February 14th. She is our very best St.Valentine's present. She is our cute and smiling angel. And how can you resist to make this child happy without making her a couple of cakes:)
Let's stop with the explanations and see some pictures...

First cake - Pink cupcake with teddy bear

Second cake  - Charming girl with flowers

Happy St.Valentine!

Today I'll present you the cake that I have just finished for my Valentine, my true love, my husband. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any good pictures but I hope it will be nice surprise for him.
The cake is red velvet. What else can you do for St.Valentine? I am joking but  for a long time I was planning to make a red velvet cake. And now it's the right time.
The filling is the decadent Raffaello cream with abundance of cocoanut flakes ( one of my husband's favorite fillings). The lower cake I covered with strawberry jam instead of butter cream. This new recipe I learned form my very close friend Maria and immediately I decided to try it. For the people who knows me it's not something new but for all the others I would like to share with you that I am not a fan of the butter cream. That's why this option attracts me immediately.
The cage and the key are not edible. All the decorations are made out of fondant.

And Happy St. Valentine to everyone! Love, respect and support each other! Love is the driving force in life!

More suggestions for St. Valentine

St.Valentine is coming... Do you feel thrill in the air? Are you ready? Did you find something cute and unforgettable for your loved one? Did you decide what kind of cake you'll make? Or probably, you prefer to buy a luxury box of chocolate candies....It doesn't matter how you'll surprise your half. The most important is to express your love, appreciation and affection. Even sometimes a strong hug, a passionate kiss, a romantic note on the kitchen table can be enough. Only if it's honest and if it's coming from your heart. It's a day not to spend a lot of money buying expensive lingerie or enormous cute bear toys that later on you don't know where to put. It's a day when we express one more time our love, passion and affection.

Today I give you some more ideas what you can prepare for you Valentine's day. All my suggestions are easy to make and everybody can do them. They won't take lot of time and efforts. That's why get down to work:)

My first suggestion  are bran muffins filled with strawberry and fig jam. (you can use whatever jam you like). After the muffins are baked and cooled you can make a hole in the centre, lift that part and fill the empty space with the jam. After that cover the filled with jam muffins with vanilla frosting and decorate with some heart decorating sprinkles. And here it is...

Isn't it easy?

Now let's start with another idea for St.Valentine - a small cake made with tiny round eclairs  filled with vanilla cream. Arrange the eclairs in the shape of a pyramid and attach them with cream made of mascarpone cream, sour cream and mixed berries. In my cake I used a lot of blueberries, blackberries and cranberries. That's why the color is more purple. On the top of the pyramid pour some melted chocolate and again spread abundance of decorating hearts.

Next idea I found in the net.  Here you can find perfect explanations how to make it. It's a pound cake and I made it for the first time. I am not so proud with the final result, I mean "the heart" is not in the center but I am extremely proud of what I created. My family (not only kids) fell in love with this pound cake! They couldn't resist and they ate more that a piece or two. Honestly, I even couldn't try it...I was just sitting and starring how even the tiniest crumbs disappeared in front of me. Although I hadn't chance to try it, I can bravely asseverate that it's delicious!

As you can see my suggestions for something sweet for your Valentine's Day are easy to make. I wish you good luck and most of all love each other and don't forget that we all need love and appreciation not only one day per year! Love each other strongly and passionately every single day as it is St.Valentine's Day!

Moist spice cake with tiramisu filling

My new post is for a cake that I made for my family. The cake as you can see from the pictures below is very simple and ordinary, without any beautiful decorations. But it's extremely delicious! Actually that was my purpose - a dessert easy to make with amazing aroma and taste. The "secret" combination is a tender spice cake with tiramisu filling. And because we are in the month of St.Valentine I chose to be in the shape of a heart. Yes, I know, it's too banal and deprived of any creativity but I was craving for something sweet full of aromas and the shape was the last thing to think of :)
And I would like to share one last discovery with you before I post the pictures. The combination of a spice cake (predominant flavorings are cinnamon, cloves, allspice, ginger, nutmeg) with tiramisu filling is irresistible!

The decoration on the top of the cake is made out chocolate paste brushed with golden dust and a lot of love...
